History of Las Madrinas de los Seguros
It begins in 2013, although brief, it is full of emotions. It is the dream of two enterprising women, Odalys Arevalo and Mercy Cabrera, who had the vision and, more importantly, the faith that they could help the community understand how health insurance works in light of the appearance of the new ACA law (Health Reform), also known as OBAMACARE. This law guarantees everyone the right to have health insurance without verifying a pre-existing condition. It was a rocky start filled with political views, misinformation, and a lot of confusion in the community.

The vision of these dream women became an arduous task, until he was able to demonstrate his courage, and open a path for many insurance agents to join his vision.
George Bernard Shaw, said "You see things and you say, 'Why?' But I dream things that never were, and I say, 'Why not?'
This has always been la philosophy of Odalys and Mercy that began to make noise in the insurance industry when people were not listening, when no one believed. With their persistence and steadfastness they motivated a team of officers and began spreading the news throughout their community in Miami-Dade County. Their diligence and tenacity to see their plan come to fruition persevered through the adverse conditions of the Affordable Care Act platform provided in the fall of 2013. With their spirit and perseverance they walked the path to the top of the industry and enrolled more 60,000 members in the first year. To date, with their efforts and dedication, they have assisted more than 200,000 families. It is an honor for them to be able to add the service of helping people choose their Health plans and understand the additional options available to them.

It was this dreamy attitude that prompted the entire community and insurance companies to name Odalys and Mercy, as The Godmothers of the Health Reform.
